Central Montana Foundation is the oldest community foundation in Montana!

Organized by a group of visionary businessmen in 1984,
the Foundation offers our donors a chance to give back to the community they love.

By working through the Foundation, worthy projects are able to provide donors with a tax deductible avenue for donations. CMF has 10 unrestricted permanent endowments from which income is used for its grant-making program. In a typical year CMF grants upwards of $175,000 to local organizations for healthcare, essential services, education, civic, recreational and cultural projects!

Permanent endowments and pass-through funds provide support exclusively to projects within the Central Montana area. CMF holds more than 200 of these funds, including its own unrestricted endowments, 11 rural community endowments, a variety of non-profit and tax-exempt organizations in Central Montana and scholarship funds. The 50+ scholarship endowments provide nearly $250,000 annually to scholarships to local students.
